Favorite Music: I love all music but it mainly depends on the weather and the mood I’m in
Competition Style: American Rhythm
Favorite Dance: I love all dances since I can express and emote differently with each dance and style. But If I had to it would be Bolero, Viennese Waltz and the Cha Cha!
Teaching Style: my students and I compete Professional/Amateur, in all 4 styles: American Rhythm and Smooth / Latin and Standard. I also do choreographed Solo exhibitions with Students. I teach wedding couples their first dance and dances for their reception. I also teach social dances
What I Love most about teaching? What I love about teaching is guiding people to become the dancer they want and help them dance like they never imagined they could.
Who I admire the most and why? Besides my mother I admire Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, because they were both great dancers and entertainers. They both had the gift of working dancing into everyday life to share with the masses.
One thing most people don’t know about me: I used to be very shy and quiet before I became a dancer. Dancing helped me overcome my shyness.
Hobbies: – Besides dancing, I enjoy watching the Colts and Football on Sunday’s. I like to ride my motorcycle with my Dad and Brother, riding my bicycle, passing the football, and working in my yard to name a few.
One of the coolest things I’ve done: – One of the coolest things I’ve done is dance on the main stage of the 2007 Disney Christmas Day Parade with DWTS.
More Facts: I have been ballroom dancing since 1997. In 2003 I started my professional career as an instructor and competitor.
I enjoy teaching both social and competitive dancers. My goal is to help everyone feel comfortable on the dance floor and reach their dancing goals. In my own dancing,
I have competed and performed across the United States winning numerous competitions and placing in finals with my professional partner Lindsey Rutherford.
I also perform showcase solos and compete in the Pro/Am competition events with my students. I am always continuing my dance education and training with the top coaches in the World.
Hi Jonah,
I saw you dance at the Bridal Show this weekend and thought you were very talented. I’m actually not a bride, but I was a vendor at the show. Anyways, I’ve always wanted to try dance lesson to see what it’s like and I talked to someone at the show about scheduling a free trial lesson. Is that something you do or does another instructor do that? I just want to try it out to see if I like it.
Thanks,
Bethany
